The Obama’s – reject, mock Bush stimulus plan, want one of their own
August 3, 2008 by blogistrateDoes this sound familiar? The surge wouldn’t, couldn’t work (coincidentally is has worked), but we should surge into Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Off-shore drilling? A campaign ploy that won’t reduce gas prices, but if Bush wants to repeal the off-shore drilling ban he can do it. Bush did and Pelosi, Reid and the Democrats continue to fight the will of the American people. So now that oil prices have retreated since Bush’s announcement, Obama is ready to flip flop compromise on that issue.
The Bush stimulus plan won’t help. Obama opposed it. But in the heat of the presidential election he’s now proposing an additional stimulus plan – that he can’t pay for.
Obama should ask his wife why a stimulus package is even needed. I mean really, “You’re getting $600 – what can you do with that?”
Michelle Obama: Americans Spending $600 Stimulus Checks on Earrings – link
Amanda Carpenter notes:
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle, complained the government’s $600 economic stimulus check was only enough to buy “a pair of earrings” while stumping for her husband.
“You’re getting $600 – what can you do with that?” Mrs. Obama said in Pontiac, Michigan last week. “Not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn’t pay down every bill every month. The short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good, and it may even feel good that first month when you get that check, and then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings.”
She made these remarks at a “working women’s roundtable discussion.”
Well, it’s not like Michelle Obama makes comments like this all the time.
not everyone can afford to keep it all together, especially here in Muskingum County, where, according to the census, the median household income in 2004 was $37,192, below both the Ohio and national average. Out of that, there’s the mortgage. And child care. Health care. Education. Lessons. “I know we’re spending — I added it up for the first time — we spend between the two kids, on extracurriculars outside the classroom, we’re spending about $10,000 a year on piano and dance and sports supplements and so on and so forth,” Mrs. Obama tells the women. “And summer programs. That’s the other huge cost. Barack is saying, ‘Whyyyyyy are we spending that?’ And I’m saying, ‘Do you know what summer camp costs?’”
One wonders whether that $600 budgeted for earrings could be spent on, say, fruit:
“Now we’re keeping, like, a bowl of fresh fruit in the house. But you have to go to the fruit stand a couple of times a week to keep that fruit fresh enough that a six-year-old—she’s not gonna eat the pruney grape, you know. At that point it’s, like, ‘Eww!’ She’s not gonna eat the brown banana or the shrivelledy-up things. It’s got to be fresh for them to want it. Who’s got time to go to the fruit stand? Who can afford it, first of all?”
Eh, nevermind the fruit. It’s probably not worth it, what with all the nefarious labeling of products:
“And the notion of trying to think about a lunch every day! . . . So you grab the Lunchables, right? And the fruit-juice-box thing, and we think—we think—that’s juice. And you start reading the labels and you realize there’s high-fructose corn syrup in everything we’re eating. Every jelly, every juice. Everything that’s in a bottle or a package is like poison in a way that most people don’t even know. . “
What with the $600 earrings, the $10,000 summer camps, unaffordable fruit and hidden poisons on the store shelves, daily life in America seems particularly tough on women:
“I wake up every morning wondering how on earth I am going to pull off that next minor miracle to get through the day. I know that everybody in this room is going through this. That is the dilemma women face today. Every woman that I know, regardless of race, education, income, background, political affiliation, is struggling to keep her head above water.” (This presumably includes her friend Oprah.)
(COUGHoprahCOUGH) So who’s to blame?
“What I notice about men, all men, is that their order is me, my family, God is in there somewhere, but me is first.”
Dear Obama campaign, please make sure this is the theme of her prime-time address at the convention.

Obama’s Chicago “out of control” says Gov; seeks National Guard help
July 17, 2008 by blogistrateRemember what Barack Obama has done for the residents of his district, and how they feel about him? If you are new to the topic read the back story or see video here – Obama fails his own district.
Well it’s gotten so bad in Obama’s Chicago, that the Democratic governor of Illinois has stated that crime is “out of control.” So out of control that the governor is devising a plan to call in the National Guard to protect citizens of the city. This is Obama’s hometown.
Imagine what will happen to America and how bad crime and housing will deteriorate should he be president? He clearly has done nothing for his own constituents yet he wants to give billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to foreigners while his own city crumbles. While he’s out talking to terrorists and giving them money for God knows what – more American cities will follow Chicago’s tragic path.
Obama has no leadership skills, no management skills, no police or military training. He has no financial acumen except how to buy a home for himself from a convicted criminal well below market value. The only thing Barack Obama knows is how to lie for votes. He has mastered that skill.
Lie, get vote, reverse position. That is the Obama mantra. But back to the downfall of his own Chicago under his watchful eye.
CHICAGO — As Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Wednesday signed a new law that will put in place tougher penalties for selling guns to minors, he also announced he’s got a new idea to help combat the violence that Chicago is experiencing: he’s talking to the Illinois State Police and the National Guard to see if they could help.
The Chicago Sun-Times depicted Blagojevich as the “new sheriff in town” Thursday morning in its coverage of the governor’s plan to form an “elite tactical team” to help the city fight crime.
“Violent crime in the city of Chicago is out of control,” Blagojevich said at the bill signing ceremony. “I’m offering resources of the state to the city to work in a constructive way with Mayor Daley to do everything we can possibly do to help stop this violence,” said the governor. The summer of 2008 will be remembered as especially violent. Blagojevich said there’s been a child shot nearly every day since June 26, with 29 Chicago Public School students shot since last fall.
The summer of 2008 will be remembered as especially violent. Blagojevich said there’s been a child shot nearly every day since June 26, with 29 Chicago Public School students shot since last fall.
“Twenty-eight of those kids are African-American and Latino. Hard to imagine that that would be acceptable if that were, in fact, the case inother parts of the city or in a middle-class suburb somewhere,” he said. “Something is wrong, and this violence has to stop.”

Bernie Mac bringing the nigga out in Obama?
July 12, 2008 by blogistrateBarack Hussein Obama, the supposed healer of races, arranged a surprise appearance at a recent fundraiser by comedian Bernie Mac.
Another example of Obama’s judgment or lack thereof. Mac’s book I Ain’t Scared of You: Bernie Mac on How Life Is, gives an inside glimpse of Bernie’s views on race and it’s not the kind of stuff a presidential candidate who is claiming to be the hope and change in politics would endorse.
“We can’t afford to be divided by race. We can’t afford to be divided by region or by class and we can’t afford to be divided by gender, which by the way, that means, Bernie, you’ve got to clean up your act next time,” Obama said. “This is a family affair. By the way, I’m just messing with you, man.”
Clearly Obama didn’t have a problem with Mac’s opening jokes, or the views in his book, or else he wouldn’t have invited him or allowed him to perform. So, did Bernie Mac bring the nigga out in Obama?
Bernie Mac makes off-color joke at Obama event

CHICAGO (AP) – Comedian Bernie Mac endured some heckling and a campaign rebuke during a surprise appearance Friday night at a fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Toward the end of a 10-minute standup routine at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago, the 50-year-old star of “The Bernie Mac Show” joked about menopause, sexual infidelity and promiscuity, and used occasional crude language. Read the rest of this entry »

Obama touts judgment then says he made bad judgment putting kids on tv
July 10, 2008 by blogistrateAs the Irish say about luck, if it weren’t for bad judgment, Obama wouldn’t have any judgment at all.
From a recent interview:
Q: What qualifies you to be commander in chief?
A: Well, I think that the most important quality that a commander in chief needs at this juncture in history in particular is judgment…
From another recent interview on putting his kids on tv:
On Wednesday, Obama said he had second thoughts after seeing how much attention the interview had received.
Asked if he regretted the interview, Obama said: “A little bit of pause, Michelle and I, particularly given the way it sort of went around the cable stations. I don’t think it’s healthy and it’s something that we’ll be avoiding in the future.”
If he can’t make sound judgments regarding his children, why would we trust him on national security, the military, the economy, or any other issue?
Asked what makes their parents angry, Sasha said whining and Malia cited arguing with each other.

Black tv station covers Obama – would not cover whites – violating FCC or campaign laws?
July 9, 2008 by blogistrateFor all the racial healing that Obama promotes, but fails to deliver, and for all the complaints about how racist American’s are – some in ‘black America’ prefer blatant segregation and quaintly discriminate against non-blacks. Is coverage of only one political party by a television network, because of his color, even legal? What about that fairness doctrine liberals and Democrats are always touting? Full Story
“We are not a news organization,” said Rodgers, speaking at the opening session of the semi-annual Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. “We are a television network designed to celebrate African American achievement. If Hillary was the nominee, we would not be covering this year’s Democratic Convention.”
“My audience is 93% black,” Rodgers added. “I serve my audience.”
Here’s some news – Obama is 50% white.

State is asked to clarify Web solicitation
By RANDY FURST, Star Tribune
July 9, 2008
The head of the Minnesota Gambling Control Board said that a solicitation for funds on the national website of the Barack Obama presidential campaign may constitute a raffle, which is a violation of Minnesota gambling laws.
Tom Barrett, executive director of the board, said he will ask the state Department of Public Safety to look into the matter.
The Obama campaign said Monday night that the solicitation does not constitute a raffle. “We are not conducting a raffle of any kind,” said Nick Kimball, a spokesman for the Obama campaign in Minnesota.
The Obama website, which is soliciting funds of up to $2,300, says anyone who makes a contribution to the Obama campaign of $5 or more between now and July 31 “could be one of 10 supporters chosen to meet Barack backstage” in Denver.
It further says that the 10 selected supporters can bring a guest and will be flown to Denver to spend two days at the Democratic Party national convention, including hearing Obama’s speech on Aug. 28. Read the rest of this entry »

What Do Americans Know About Obama’s ‘Black Liberation’ Theology?
July 9, 2008 by blogistrateBy Nicholas M. Guariglia
Several months ago author Christopher Hitchens, on the heels of his magnum opus God is Not Great, wrote an opinion piece suggesting it was not out of line to question former presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith. Besides some of the more peculiar aspects of the Mormon doctrine –– that whole business about Garden of Eden being in Missouri –– there were more pressing matters, Hitchens felt, which required an explanation on behalf of Governor Romney. The primary concern went as follows:
